AP US HISTORY Presentation |
INVESTIGATE THE WORLD
As a former AP U.S history student, I had the opportunity to deeply analyze and process our nation's history. In many ways, our America is still the same, learning about the different periods of times in our nation's history, allowed me to understand where many of our characteristics initially came from. In the final semester of our class, my peers and I had the opportunity to present a full chapter. As a city girl, I was delighted to present about the early beginnings of cities in our country.
Like the beginning days of our country, immigrants were and continue to be a very important factor of developing a new space, in my chapter, I discussed the impact of the New and Old immigrants. With the move in of people from different countries, new changes began, because many of the already Americans came form the country side, they already had their own traditional customs and points of views, the city was opportunity for some to fight against the status quo. The time period, 1865 - 1900 was the start of change, women among the many changes, began to become independent and started the historic women suffrage. As I mentioned before, in many ways, our country is still the same, we are still fighting for social justice and are ever evolving. Through this project , I was able to communicate the fact that history is relatable, because although many events happened long before we were born, we are still tangibly experiencing the same changes in our city today. |
