BIRTH DATE : 4/ 16After 7 years of attending ASGL, I am finally reaching the afterword. As I look back on the memories that I've made, faces I've grown to become a custom to and projects I have lead and participated in, I am only thankful of the experience that ASGL allowed me to obtain. At ASGL I had opportunities to become involved; my only reaction was to take those opportunities and learn from them.
I was born on April 16. I am a proud Central American descendant and my mission is to love others. In junior year, I started questioning what my true passions were and whether I had what it took to work towards my greatest aspirations . Although I had my insecurities, I took opportunities in and outside of school to explore what the world offered me and what I could offer the world. Like everyone else, I am not perfect, but I have grown into a person that is true to herself and her beliefs. I am a passionate, happy person who loves to perform and help others.

As a person who consistently thinks about anything and everything - what I'm going to wear tomorrow, what I should pack for college even though its 3 months away, what I've done wrong, how I should plan my study time, I've had enough time to deeply analyze and come to the conclusion that I've always been a global leader. I've always strived to become empathetic, patient and take initiative. Although I have always yearned to collaborate and build, to use the qualities that I hold as a global leader, I never had much opportunity to do so, when I came to ASGL everything changed. As I mention in the Global Competency portion of my personal profile, I have been involved in various clubs and activities both in and out of school, this did not only allow me to help others and grow as leader, but it gave me confidence. I grew up at ASGL and a lot of the faces I see everyday are the same that I met as a 12 year old, because of the people I've become close to and staff that have believed in me, ASGL became a second home, and I feel very comfortable in being outspoken and outgoing at this establishment. However, I was not like this everywhere I went, when I didn't know anyone at all at a certain place I became self conscious and believe it or not, quiet. ASGL has shown me otherwise, and because of this school I have grown to attain confidence everywhere I go. My growth as a person who is not afraid to be who she is has lead me to all that I am today. I found my voice.

My education has always been a natural priority of mine. Although I have always strived to earn good grades, I know that I haven't always chased after my academic endeavors in the best way that I had to offer. Even at times when I tried my best, the end results of my efforts showed otherwise. I saw the beginning of high school as a fresh start even though I decided to stay at the same school. My approach to it was to earn B's and A's , but my plan derailed and I earned couple of C's. I earned a C in my biology class in ninth grade, the cause , tests. Although I studied for tests I always ended up doing a poor job. As I reflect on the grades that I earned in tests and in my biology class, I have noticed that I didn't know how to study. It might sound like I am making an excuse up, but I still remember the nights in which I would try to memorize terms and ultimately failing. Now that I am a senior in high school, I am confident about the tests I take, all due to the fact that I have cultivated a study plan that is effective. All the years of study have inspired me to open my mind up to different ideas and have allowed me to realize the connections between subjects and how I could apply them to the real world. As I step onto college territory, I am ecstatic to learn about the world, and through that cultivate new beliefs through my education.
